How to: Switch to a different task from a full-screen DOS program.
Solution:
NOTE: To switch a DOS program from running full-screen to running in a window, press ALT+ENTER.
Press ALT+TAB to switch to the next open program or to display the desktop and Taskbar. To prevent the DOS program from going full-screen again, change the DOS program properties to 'Windowed'.
1) To switch to the desktop or to the next open program, press ALT+TAB to display the Windows desktop and Taskbar.
2) To change the DOS window settings immediately:
a) Right-click the DOS application program button on the Taskbar.
b) Select 'Properties...' from the pop-up menu. (The 'DOS Program Properties' dialog box appears.)
c) Click the 'Screen' tab and click 'Window'.

NOTE: Not all MS-DOS-based applications can run in a window.
d) (Optional) Select a window size from the 'Initial size' drop-down list box.
e) (Optional) Select 'Display toolbar'.
f) Click 'Apply' and click 'OK'.
